Abstract

The present text serves as a methodological guide for teachers to be and students of other pedagogical disciplines, pedagogical staff of schools and educational institutions for introducing the practice of council in groups of children and youth. The text introduces the importance of sharing stories with each other as a starting point for further academic and social learning. The handbook then briefly describes the characteristics of working in council, providing concrete suggestions and examples from practice. Finally, the experience with advisory circles is presented through the eyes of a practising teacher and students of the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University.

Abstract

The publication is a study text intended for students in Teacher for Primary Schools and Teacher for Kindergartens study programmes. Its aim is to present the professional portfolio as an important part and instrument of teacher professionalisation. The publication focuses on both the process and the product of the professional portfolio. It should help students to systematically record and reflect the process of becoming a teacher, promote individualisation and authenticity in the professionalisation process. Accent is put simultaneously on the role of portfolio in student teacher development and learning and on its use for assessment. The text will enable students to create their own portfolios which may be used e.g. as a material for their final state exam.

Abstract

The book introduces the issue of productive culture of teaching and learning in broader didactical context. In the first part of the book, three areas of productive culture of teaching and learning are as theoretical framework presented: 1. clarity, structure, coherence, 2. cognitive activation, instrumentalization, semantization, 3. Supportive learning environment. The second part of the book presents 17 didactic case studies that have been developed by teams that consisted of researchers and teachers from schools. The aim of didactic case studies is to highlight key areas of productive culture of teaching and learning.

Abstract

This book analyzes through theoretical research the field of art creation in special education, art education, art therapy and visual art. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter contains analytical study focusing on disability images in visual arts in selected periods of European art history. The second chapter deals with art work creation in education and therapy and presents outcomes of an action research. It aims to compare and interpret new theoretical foundations of art therapy, special art education and inclusive art didactics. The final chapter focuses on establishment of authors with disabilities as artists and art creation as a specific strategy for social inclusion. At the same time it values artistic creation as a specific strategy of social inclusion.
